Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a home care or assisted living setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
Duties:
- Provide personal care and assistance to individuals with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed
- Support individuals in maintaining a clean and safe living environment
- Promote independence and encourage participation in social and recreational activities
- Implement behavior management techniques to ensure the well-being of individuals
- Administer medication according to prescribed guidelines (if applicable)
- Document observations, progress, and incidents accurately and timely
Skills:
- Previous experience in caregiving or patient care is preferred
- Familiarity with home care practices and procedures
- Understanding of the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patience, empathy, and compassion for working with individuals with diverse needs
- Ability to effectively manage challenging behaviors
