Compensation Update : As of 4 / 21 / 2024, the pay scale is $19.90 - $27.75 USD.

FTE : 1.0, Shift : Evening, Schedule : Primarily 02 : 00 PM - 10 : 30 PM, Monday - Friday, but may vary slightly depending on needs.

Rotating scheduled Weekends (every 3rd to 5th weekend) and Holidays (two rotating scheduled holidays per year).

Bilingual skills (English / Spanish) preferred

Position Summary

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for processing, disinfection, storing and the distribution of surgical supplies and equipment in a prompt, reliable manner as needed for efficient and safe patient care.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

2. Keeps dirty supplies separated from clean or sterile supplies and equipment.

3. Follows specified procedure for sterilizer monitoring; cleans and operates the sterilizers according to established procedures.

4. Responsible that the principles of asepsis and technical knowledge are applied to all aspects of department.

5. Inspires confidence by performing and communicating in a highly professional manner at all times.

6. Through attitude and example, demonstrates Memorial’s expectations for customer service.

7. Performs and records quality assurance functions as necessary.

8. Consistently adheres to hospital infection control and standard precautions.

9. Produces work with minimal clerical / charting errors, including omissions.

10. Maintains accurate inventory of supplies and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education : High School diploma or GED equivalent required.

Experience : One year of sterile processing experience preferred.

Licenses / Certificates / Registration : Central Service certification preferred within 2 years of hire through the International Association of Hospital Central Service Materials Management correspondence course.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position.

The pay scale is $16.28 - $21.61 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to : skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and / or education.

If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
