Position Summary:
The Staff Chaplain is responsible for providing Spiritual Care as part of the patient care programs. This ministry is directed primarily to patients and the families of patients, but also to the employees, medical staff and students of the institution. This position works closely with the multi-disciplinary team to provide a total intervention/counseling service and requires a service oriented individual with the ability to relate to the critically and/or terminally ill, handicap, disadvantaged, and individuals of various ethnic groups. Work situations are frequently non-routine and require sensitivity, the use of discretion, good judgment, and diplomacy. Internal contacts include staff and management throughout the organization. External contacts include patients, families, local clergy, religious lay groups, and outside service agencies.
Minimum Requirements:
Two years of pastoral experience OR completion of residency in a hospital setting preferred
Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Masters degree in Theology, Pastoral Studies or related field required
One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education required
Two units of CPE strongly preferred; must complete two units within 8 months of hire
Board Certification preferred
Compensation Range:
M19 - Min: $31.59-Max: $45.47
