Job Title: WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS -MATERIAL DELIVERY
Location: San Jose - San Francisco

POSITION PURPOSE: To efficiently maneuver, stock, sort and distribute product in and out of the warehouse and yard so our customers are able to save time, money and manpower. We are expected to provide our customers with an extraordinary service experience that will make them leave with a smile and want to return to do business with us again.

Duties & Responsibilities of Warehouse/Delivery personnel include the following:

OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

RECEIVE PRODUCTS AND MATERIAL:

Unloads trucks, including our own trucks and checks the shipment for accuracy and/or damage.

Makes note of any shortages and/or damages. Removes packing list, looks for proper purchase order information, checks material off the packing slip for accuracy and forwards to office for immediate data entry receiving. Initials or signs all associated paperwork. Incoming inventory is promptly conveyed and pulled for transfer, orders and/or restocked in proper locations to minimize handling and avoid unnecessary damage. Rotate stock where applicable. Place incoming inventory in designated areas with the safe and proper use of a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or cart.

SHIP OUTGOING PRODUCT AND MATERIAL:

Accurately prepare inventory to load onto customers trucks, company trucks or common carrier freight trucks, Provide solid s-upport to customers and branches with equal priority. Accurately read sales orders, invoices and transfers ... pull, stage and load product using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or cart. Double check the sales order with the material, verify for accuracy and initial or sign all paperwork associated (two warehouse/delivery personnel).

MAINTAIN WAREHOUSE AND YARD:

Regularly placing incoming inventory and returned products in their designated area, keeping aisles, yard driveways clear of product and debris. Operate a safe and efficient warehouse so that products can be quickly located. Restock shelves and pallet racks, labeling products for quick identity ... sweeping floors and yard grounds ... minimizing waste and recycling.

Production Equipment is regularly cleaned and maintained. Report any damages or maintenance requirements immediately.

RECEIVE, RECONDITION AND SHIP RENTAL HARDWARE:

Assure that Rental Hardware is prepared and available for customers and transfers when needed. Place incoming rental hardware in its designated area ... count incoming hardware and complete the return tag making note of any damages immediately. Save damaged rental hardware in case the customer wants to inspect or pick up (please label). Separate the hardware into three categories: 1) reusable; available for immediate shipping 2) hardware in need of re- conditioning (immediately after return keep track of any man hours put into the reconditioning process to charge customer accordingly) 3) recycle pile for future recycling clean up

Place usable material in its designated area; counted, stacked or in container ready for ship- ping.

All hardware in need of reconditioning must be done as soon as possible. Re-inspect hardware prior to shipping to customer or transfer for any damage or missing parts if visible. Regularly inspect and recondition Tilt-Up braces (San Jose); stored and ready for shipping.

MAINTAIN INVENTORY ACCURACY:

Count and report any low inventory levels. Notify purchasing staff via verbal, text or written note about any items that are at low or out of stock as soon as you pull the last item or notice we are low on stock. Keep products in designated areas, labeled clearly for immediate shipping.

Complete all scheduled inventory cycle counts on time.

DELIVER MATERIAL:

Drivers are part of warehouse operations. Refer to the Warehouse Operations above for duties and responsibilities as well as deliveries. Assist Foreman/Supervisor as instructed. Deliver the correct material to the correct site at the correct time to the correct customer. Inspect load prior to scheduled route to assure the material loaded on the truck is what the customer requested.
Secure material utilizing the proper restraining straps, conduct safety check on the load and the truck prior to moving vehicle. Drivers are to perform a Pre-Trip inspection on truck assigned as outlined by CA Commercial Drivers handbook. Complete Truck Log daily including the total of mileage traveled and time start, finish and total hours worked. Pick up rental returns as instructed by dispatcher and customers. Complete a rental return tag for each return. Note any damages at time of pick up if visible. Immediately report all accidents, no matter how minor.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or. one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals: Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively with customers and other employees.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply. and divide in standard units of measure, using whole- numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Valid CA drivers license when operating company vehicles.

Class A or B CA Commercial drivers license if operating heavy delivery equipment

Valid Haz-Mat Endorsement if operating heavy delivery equipment

Valid Medical Card if operating heavy delivery equipment

Valid forklift operator certification
