This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of dedicated professionals with Azelis Americas, a top global specialty chemical distributor. This newly expanded position will be focused on cementitious and gypsum-based construction materials that operates within the Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, Elastomers (CASE) segment. Candidates in the greater Milwaulkee Wisconsin area, or those with ability to relocate or travel regularly, will be considered. The TDM position demands a leading industry expert, based on experience and contributions with a record of consistently steering growth in emerging technical trends. Duties will be both customer and principal facing with technical accountabilities to aid in the growth of the construction business. Additionally, expect hands-on benchwork in the recently renovated Wisconsin Laboratory that requires technical thinking, consistent focus on safety, good communication skills, and enthusiastic collaboration with our commercial team. Description To collaboratively aid the construction team in delivering innovation through formulation, training commercial and technical colleagues, and providing knowledge for market growth opportunities. This position requires deep technical understanding of the science behind cementitious and gypsum-based formulations as well as the products used in the market, plus the ability to think beyond current industry offerings. The TDM works closely with the commercial team and lab leaders to initiate and conduct value-added projects with tangible commercial opportunity. The role will aid the sales team by providing technical guidance in the construction market segment. It will include the collection and dissemination of market intelligence, contributing to marketing content, and close collaboration with principals to effectively represent the portfolio for growth of the construction business. In order to perform these duties it is expected that considerable domestic travel will be required to assist customers, understand our technologies, and bring projects into the Wisconsin lab to support growth. Mission To support the commercial team in the technical application area of construction materials with particular emphasis in cementitious materials through consultive and laboratory assistance. Five (5) to Ten (10) years of industry experience, specifically Construction, preferably in a laboratory setting or technical service support function. Proven track record of success in business development with a focus on technical solutions; in the construction industry is a plus. A thorough understanding of the specialty chemical distribution field is a plus. Ability to travel >50% - lesser for those residing in the greater Milwaukee WI area. Analytical, yet flexible, approach and attention to detail. Strategic thinker with the ability to translate market insights into actionable business strategies. Excellent listening skills with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively. Ability to liaise with teams and influence people at all levels to achieve results through others. Excellent customer service skills and/or experience to work effectively to support the sales team and monitor various stages of the selling process. Ability to quickly learn new systems and product technologies as well as training a technical staff in a team environment. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Main Accountabilities – Business Development Act as a leading Azelis technical expert with forward vision and deep insight into future technical trends. Routinely provide expert customer support with clear, concise, and timely communication. Achieve and maintain a high level of responsiveness and follow-up to customer needs. Make joint sales calls with the Azelis commercial team and supplier company personnel on key customers. Objective to introduce new products and discuss existing products resulting in increased sales. Assist the sales team by continually identifying and sharing opportunities based on new trends, principal product development, and gap analysis. Monitor the Opportunity Pipeline development of the Strategic Suppliers to ensure proper execution of revenue growth as determined in regular supplier meetings. Assess portfolio gaps to assist in identifying and acquiring new product lines necessary to meet organization requirements. Update market intelligence, improve documentation and availability of market data. Represent Azelis expertise with key principals and at industry events. Recommend, assist, and attend appropriate tradeshows, association meetings, and ensure the proper and appropriate representation of the Company. Offer sales leads to the sales team from trade publications, newspapers, verbal and all other referral sources relative to new sales potentials. Work with marketing on as-needed basis to provide the technical content that relates to current market opportunities and trends that will be used for presentation by the sales team to customers and prospects. Assist in the recommendation and development of the company's e-blast activity and other promotional activities that are intended to generate leads/opportunities for the sales team. Assist with written reports of the highlights of technical correspondence with customers with emphasis on significant technical information as it relates to new or lost business, pricing changes, usage rates, and strategies by competition. Main Accountabilities – Laboratory Work in a hands-on capacity to progress on customer projects. Formulate mortar materials with our product portfolio to gain understanding of our products to identify new uses and applications. Lab work will include planning, testing, and reviewing data sets to take directional steps and form sound conclusions to achieve the project goal. Coordinate with principals and Azelis lab for shared learning and training activities. Report to customers or marketing where applicable to make market impact from lab findings. Assist in technical trainings of our sales team. Participate in the maintenance and development of new methods based on customer needs and modifications from ASTM, ANSI, or other regulating body. Comply with ISO lab requirements such as safety training and required lab processes.
