The Production Line Lead is responsible for supervision of production operation’s, meeting production schedule and quality requirements, and training all employees. including staffing and meeting production schedule and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

· Monitor all resources (personnel and equipment) to meet production schedule and quality requirements

· Manage all resources (personnel and equipment) to meet production schedule and quality requirements

· Understand customer demand and internal goals, and utilize appropriate production schedules to achieve required performance

· Adjust staffing, shift schedules, and weekly schedules to adapt to changing demands

· Report on daily output, efficiency, quality. Document in appropriate systems using established procedures

· Report production statistics at weekly Production Meeting

· Report quality statistics at monthly Quality Meeting

· Ensure quality standards are being met

o Ensure proper training on quality standards, procedures, and methods

o Audit rejects and finished goods to verify inspection performance

· Manage raw material and supplies inventory and reorder through Purchasing

· Drive continuous improvement activities in the department

Technical:

· Understand operation of all equipment in the department

· Validate and seek approval of any proposed procedural changes

· Ensure that documentation of procedures remains current

· Standardize processes and ensure they are followed

Personnel Management:

o Permanent employees, temporary staff

· Ensure proper training of all staff

· Ensure that 10/30/60/90 reviews for permanent and temporary employees are completed on schedule. Assess performance and make recommendations on hiring, advancement, or termination.

· Cross-training as applicable to ensure a deep enough talent pool

· Develop solid, flexible leadership team to ensure reliable backup, off-shift, and weekend shift coverage

· Maintain training records

· Resource utilization based on documented skill sets

· Promote and ensure safe work environment

o Use of PPE

o Lockout / Tagout procedures

o Material handling / chemical exposure

· Approve absences per company policies

Preventive Maintenance:

· Ensure the daily check list has been completed

· Coordinate PM planning with Maintenance to minimize and make best use of downtime

Requirements

· Proven experience as a Leader

· Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills

· Thorough understanding of production equipment

· Understanding of quality standards, concepts, and improvement methodologies

· Understanding of health & safety regulations

· Experience in reporting on key production metrics

· Proficient in MS Office

· Strong communication skills

· Excellent organizational and leaderships skills

· Attention to detail

· Strong decision-making skills

· Results-driven approach
