Mueller Reports is Hiring a Property Inspector Near Philadelphia, PA

Mueller Reports is looking for a Property Inspector to join our growing team. This is a remote field position where the successful candidate will complete home inspection services and data collection for our insurance and valuations clients in their local area. The successful candidate will thrive in an autonomous, metric driven, fast-paced role.

Coverage area for this job includes the below counties:

  • Bucks
  • Chester
  • Delaware
  • Montgomery
  • Philadelphia

Local travel is required. Candidate MUST currently reside in one of the above counties to be eligible for the position. Candidates residing in the Greater Philadelphia area strongly preferred.

Property Inspector Job Specifications:

  • This is a part-time (20-30 hours per week) position, with potential full-time opportunities available based on performance.
  • A typical weekly inspector schedule includes a minimum of 3 weekdays (6-8 hours each day), during daylight hours only. Some Saturday availability may be required based on case queue.

Position Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess valid & current Driver’s license.
  • Must own recent model Apple or Android smartphone (4 years old or newer) to support our proprietary mobile application.
  • Must own a laptop or desktop computer with a camera and sound for video conferencing calls with supervisor & management team.
  • Must have high-speed/broadband home internet.
  • Must own a personal vehicle for transportation between cases (a reliable, fuel efficient vehicle is strongly recommended).
  • Must be comfortable abiding by company dress code (business causal with a company issued ID badge).
  • Must be willing to work in all weather conditions (Heat, Cold, Snow, Rain, Wind, etc.).

Position Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating with homeowners via text and phone call to schedule data collection and inspection dates/times, following up when needed.
  • Travelling to properties (sometimes unannounced) to conduct exterior home inspections.
  • Conducting phone and onsite interviews regarding property specifics including but not limited to building materials, build year, private property protection, additions, renovations/construction, etc.
  • Photographing the exterior and sometimes interior of the property including but not limited to photos of the roof, all sides of the home, exterior amenities, potential hazards, external obsolescence, heating, plumbing, electrical systems, interior furnishings and building materials.
  • Identifying and reporting on potential hazards, quality or condition of the property, outbuildings, and the surrounding neighborhood if applicable.
  • Measuring the exterior, and sometimes interior of the property and generating an accurate diagram of the home using Mueller's proprietary smartphone application.

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience in home inspection services is preferred, but not required. Mueller will provide necessary training and/or training materials to qualified candidates.
  • Knowledge or experience in the following is helpful but not required: delivery services, installation maintenance or repair (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), door to door sales, landscaping or groundskeeping, grounds cleaning and maintenance, insurance, data collection, working outdoors, construction, customer service, valuation condition reports or real estate appraisals.

Compensation:

  • Hourly (inclusive of travel time/admin work).
  • Mileage Reimbursement (40c/mi).
