Position Title: Plumbing Shop Crew Leader FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Department: Operations Date: 2024
Reports to: Plumbing Shop Manager Location: Westminster, CO
Wage Range: $28-35/hr

Job Summary
Perform Plumber job assignments according to MTech Mechanical safety standards and guidelines, and within budgetary constraints. Working hours are subject to change pending the shop/jobsite schedules.
This will require hands-on work in the trade as well as strong people management skills. This position has been created to lead and to help develop the growth of our other teammates and peers.
Essential Job Functions
  • This position requires the same qualifications of a journeyman perspective to trade, and is expected to perform more advanced fabrication and assembly as well as mentor and train apprentices and crew members in the shop, which includes emphasis on safety and quality.
  • Ability to convey benefits of pre-fabrication, explain the bigger picture and motivate team to produce quality systems for field operations.
  • Proficient use of all tools, equipment, and skills necessary for the complete fabrication of projects common to the Plumbing industry.
  • Responsible for physical shop organization and housekeeping to ensure a safe professional work area.
  • Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of company assets, tools and machines as well as monitoring their use.
  • Responsible for maintaining knowledge of local/national codes and industry standards. Ensure that all necessary quality inspections are made through all phases of work.
  • Responsible for productivity and quality issues pertaining to crew assignments and schedule.
  • Support the total quality effort. Identify and respond to the needs of internal and external customers 100% of the time.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager and/or Shop Manager on project needs as required. Communicate project status, changes and needs to Project Manager/Shop Manager.
  • Work within the guidelines of the safety and employee policy.
  • Possession of the tools required by company.
  • Provide a work environment based on respect, competence, fairness, satisfaction, and quality. Promote a team atmosphere.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is expected in order to meet the requirements of this position
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 4 year apprenticeship certificate and/or 4 years of field experience
  • Advanced skills in soldering and brazing techniques, assembly of equipment and carrier groups is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of plumbing, construction practice and safety procedures
  • Working knowledge of all relevant national and local codes and company and industry standards.
  • Intermediate computer skills; MS Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) Bluebeam and Procore are a plus
  • Must possess and maintain licenses that are required in the jurisdictions that you are working.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work required
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Proven to be trustworthy and has displayed leadership qualities.
  • Continually seeking further education and training.
