Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist during dental procedures and ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients. This is a full-time position with competitive pay.
Duties:
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments, suctioning, and providing support as needed
- Take and develop dental x-rays using CAD technology
- Record patient medical history, vital signs, and other relevant information
- Perform dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and managing patient records using Dentrix or Eaglesoft software
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions
- Maintain strict infection control protocols and adhere to aseptic techniques
- Assist with dental lab tasks such as pouring impressions and trimming models
- Provide chairside assistance during pediatric dental procedures
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or relevant role
- Proficiency in using Dentrix or Eaglesoft software for managing patient records
- Familiarity with taking vital signs and medical imaging techniques
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols in a dental setting
- Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program preferred. Xray Certification is required!
- Valid certification in Dental Assisting from an accredited institution
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well within a team and collaborate effectively with the dentist and other dental staff members
