Mt. Abraham Union Middle/High School is a 7-12 school with 650 students from five vibrant Addison County towns. We believe that all students should have access to high-quality personalized, proficiency-based learning opportunities and authentic assessment practices. Abraham so that they are prepared for meaningful engagement in college, career, and community upon graduation.We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic science teacher to teach students during our Extended Learning Opportunity (ELO) (Summer School). Our ELO teachers are integral members of our multi-tiered system of support in ensuring academic success for every student, particularly those that need additional time to meet their proficiencies. Our ELO teachers works to support students to complete assignments, assessments, or new learning to meet their proficiencies for graduation credit. This is a flexible pathway opportunity that allows students to continue their learning so they don't need retake courses. collaborates with classroom teachers, math coaches, other interventionists and the MAUSD Instructional Coordinator. As a licensed educator, ELO teachers will utilize their content and pedagogical expertise to provide instruction to students that require supplemental instructional strategies and supports. Essential to this position is the ability to engage and work with a wide variety of students’ learning needs and possess a strong understanding of science content.We are excited to bring someone into our learning community who will embrace our PBIS, MTSS, and proficiency based learning system and empower our students to attain transferable skills that will prepare them to be career and college ready. Compensation:$25.00 per hour, 8 hour days for two weeks. Additional two days for preparation and grading.
