Job Title: Marketing Coordinator

Classification: Exempt

Department: Business Development

Location: Schaumburg, IL / Hybrid/Flexible

Reports to: Senior Vice President

Overview

Under the direction of the Senior Vice President, the Marketing Coordinator is responsible for strategizing, creating, and implementing marketing activities that support business development and growth for the Company. The Marketing Coordinator supports the Business Development team by preparing reports and presentation materials and engaging in quality assurance tasks, as well as arranging client meetings and helping to maintain good relationships with the Company's network of Japanese corporate clientele. The Marketing Coordinator continually researches and provides recommendations for prospecting approaches to new clients, including appropriate solutions involving the Company's portfolio of products (i.e. life, property, casualty, health, automotive, or other types of insurance). This position requires native-level Japanese speaking and writing capability as well as experience marketing insurance services to Japanese corporate clients.

Essential Duties & Functions

  • Track overall sales and business development progress by reviewing business goals, sales, and marketing plans and updating team on evolving market conditions.
  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of contracts and agreements with representatives of existing and prospective insurance clients and related business partners based in the United States.
  • Support the Business Development Director in preparing reports on operational progress to Board members, executives and senior management of MSTIS in USA and MST JAPAN in Japan and make recommendations regarding corporate strategy, improvement of business practices, and refinement of sales policy.
  • Coordinate the design, ordering and distribution of promotional materials.
  • Prepare presentation materials for prospecting.
  • Assist Business Development Team with quality assurance tasks such as coordinating risk reviews between account servicing and sales teams, responding to carrier partners and tracking related activities.
  • Proactively monitor emerging trends within the insurance industry and provide research results to the Business Development team in a timely manner.
  • Make recommendations to leadership regarding solutions for prospects, based on market research, discovery results and trends.
  • Meet with prospective customers in person or virtually to obtain information about their current insurance package and their future insurance needs.
  • Execute our comprehensive sales process which includes successful prospecting, planning, and gaining new business.
  • Knowledge of our full portfolio of MSTIS P&C and EB products and services; ability to support with client explanations and prepare/provide appropriate materials when needed.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with peers, prospects, clients, and vendors.
  • Maintains and manages prospects data and log activities.
  • Maintains confidentiality of Company and customer information, including pricing, market share and other materials that could be used by competitors.
  • Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by senior management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of three years of sales and/or marketing related experience and/or training.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Native level spoken and written Japanese language skills.
  • Minimum of three years of experience marketing business services to Japanese clients.
  • Ability to work independently and make accurate decisions and demonstrate good judgement.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational and time/project management skills.
  • Must obtain and maintain active Property and Casualty Insurance and/or Life and Health Insurance Agent License.
  • This position may require routine or periodic travel which may require the teammate to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle. If required, acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are requirements of this position.
  • Maintain positive working relationships and clear communication with co-workers, clients, and insurance carriers.
  • Must be available for offsite meetings with clients.
