We are looking to enhance our team with a motivated Solutions Architect who is good at problem-solving and comfortable cultivating healthy and professional relationships with a team. This individual will report directly to the Operations Manager.

MST Global (MST) provides fit-for-purpose hardware combined with smart software solutions to support productivity and safety processes in underground and surface mines and other industrial applications. MST has been developing, manufacturing, deploying, and supporting mission-critical solutions for over 30 years.

With over 600 technology deployments worldwide, our underground digital networks and IoT platforms are embedded in many mines’ production and safety processes. The systems enable voice and data communications, tracking and tagging of personnel and vehicles, emergency evacuation warnings, and proximity detection/collision avoidance systems. This core data is then further analyzed and reported to better manage time and attendance, asset utilization, production measurement, emergency mustering, remote blasting, and geotechnical and environmental monitoring.

Primary Job Purpose:

This position is an important customer-facing role that will involve the design, sales, implementation, and support of ruggedized, industrial communications networks, and the applications that monitor and control such networks, that enable productivity and safety solutions for surface and underground mines, tunnels, and other industrial environments.

The Solutions Architect will convert customer business requirements, goals and objectives into architecture and design that will become the blueprint for best practice solutions being created, to meet MST Global strategic goals.

Onsite work requiring travel in Canada and the USA will be required. Travel can be expected to be between 25% to 50% during projects and usually involves being on the road Monday to Friday.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Essential Skills:

• Proven ability to work independently in a remote office
• Ability to create, monitor, and track trouble tickets and change requests to ensure high-quality customer service
• Ability to work in Golden, Colorado
• Professional and consultative approach
• 2 years of increasingly responsible solutions engineering, Network engineering, pre and post-sales engineering, field application engineering and/or engineering design experience
• Ability and willingness to travel to mine sites as required to configure, install, commission, support, and deliver training in MST solutions
• Ability to plan and configure a wide range of MST or similar equipment
• An excellent communicator – demonstrable excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with an attention to detail
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• A genuine commitment to safety in the workplace both in an office and field environment
• A strong commitment to customer service

Desirable Skills:

• Experience rolling out technology projects in the industrial sector - specifically at surface and underground mine sites
• Experience working in underground mines
• Knowledge of IP network technologies including MST AXON & Impact products
• The ability to read and understand a wide variety of drawings including mechanical, electrical, electronic circuits, schematics, mine plans, survey drawings etc.
• Electronics and Electrical wiring skills
• Broad understanding of other radio technologies such as Motorola, Tait, ICOM, and Kenwood
• Familiarity with Cloud (Azure, AWS) infrastructure and services.
• Familiarity with Administering Containerized Applications in Kubernetes.
• Experience with configuration and maintenance of VMware or Hyper-V clusters, hosts, and guests.
• Knowledge of databases and basic coding/scripting skills in Java, JavaScript, or similar language.
• Windows system administration is a plus.
• An understanding of PBX/SIP/VOIP-based phone systems.
• An understanding of industrial control/PLC solutions.
• Fluent with AutoCAD, Visio, Project Management software tools, and common RF survey and modeling tools
• Develop optimum Optical Fiber infrastructure designs including required surface and underground cabinets and enclosures
• Thorough understanding of standard hardware manufacturing practices
• Experience in private LTE networks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
