MSS Solutions, LLC is looking to bring on an Mechanical Engineering Co-op to join our team for this upcoming 2024 Fall Semester. MSS has been in operation for 27 years and has a total of 8 locations with over 700 employees. This Co-op would work on a project that includes construction of two 320,000 square feet towers for a laboratory research building and a medical school. These systems include semi-custom air handlers, chilled water, heating hot water, and Glycol Energy Recovery systems. They also include venturi valves and sensible cooling terminal units.

Here are some of the responsibilities for the Mechanical Engineering Co-Op:

• Assist in the design of mechanical systems for retrofit applications including domestic hot water, chilled water systems, roof top packaged units, terminal units, hydronic heating systems, etc.
• Work in team environment to support various projects including report writing, sketches, RFP development, equipment review, onsite project evaluations of existing conditions.
• Use Revit software to create engineering drawings and sketches for projects. Drawings include piping diagrams, equipment layouts, plan view, elevations, specifications and installation details. .
• Identify and generate equipment specifications by working with equipment vendors. Make recommendations on which equipment is best suited for required application.
• Onsite evaluation of existing conditions and mechanical equipment. Translate site visit notes into sketches and drawings as they pertain to scope of work deliverables.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in an Undergraduate Mechanical, or Civil Engineering program.
• Availability for two work cycles (or at least 3 semesters).
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently, changing priorities as necessary to meet deadlines.
• Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
