The Archdiocese of Baltimore is seeking a lifeguard. The responsibility of a lifeguard is to prevent drowning and other injuries from occurring. Candidates must be able to ensure the safety of patrons by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors.

Essential Functions:

• Open and close the pool each day according to scheduled hours
• Closely monitor activities related to the pool area, identifying any safety issues throughout the shift
• Direct swimmers out of water in dangerous conditions
• Closely monitor weather reports to make sure guests remain safe
• Maintain a clean pool environment
• Provide current accredited Lifeguarding Certification or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire, and present a copy to the employer.
• Prior experience lifeguarding or teaching swim lessons preferred
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire, and present a copy to employer.

Position Qualifications:

• Minimum of 16 years of age
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted repeatedly throughout the workday
• Current Lifeguard Certification Required.
• Current CPR/ First Aid/AED Certifications Required.
