BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The Handpacker is responsible for packaging and labeling raw bulk product into finished goods according to established operating procedures within a warehouse facility.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Verify quality of raw bulk product received from vendors.

* Individually count or weigh count product into boxes or bags.

* Label boxes and verify that the label information is correct.

* Count individual finished good units to be shipped out to customer facing DC’s.

* Operator will be required to occasionally dump stock into hoppers in order to achieve daily production.

* Maintain work area with a surplus of totes, reflectors, boxes, and tote liners.

* Communicate with team lead regarding shortages or overages of material.

* Actively participate in LEAN and process improvement activities.

* Supports the Safety Culture by following established SOP’s.

* Engages in the local Safety Culture through safety team support and offering safety suggestions.

* Assists department supervisors in identifying risk to associates or the business and mitigate those risks.

* Actively participate in general housekeeping activities.

* Assist with periodic physical inventory activities.

* Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.

* Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

· High School diploma or equivalent

SKILLS:

* Must be able to read and write in English.

* Must be able to maintain production standards for 2 weeks on all hand packing workstations.

* Neat and legible handwriting.

* Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals with or without hand-held calculators.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds (US).

* Must be able to sit or stand for a long period of time.
