School Year: 2024-2025

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Instruct a variety of secondary Social Studies courses that will include several of the following: modern world history, civics, comparative economics, international relations and/or United States history.
• Participate in professional learning and collaboration in curriculum, instruction and assessment.
• Ideal Candidate will have interest/experience in teaching AP Psychology as a possible elective.
• Support and lead students in the MTA Advisory program.
• Other duties per teacher contract and as assigned by the MTA Administration.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred.
• Current State of Maine Department of Education Teacher Certification in Social Studies, Grades 7-12.
• Previous teaching experience in Social Studies at the high school level preferred.
• Familiarity with secondary Social Studies content standards.
• Knowledge of integrated technology and experience with current trends in curriculum, instruction and assessment to include technology integration.
