MSAD 17 Oxford Hills School District is Hiring a Data Specialist Near South Paris, ME

The Oxford Hills School District, located in the scenic western foothills of Maine, is seeking candidates for the position of Data Specialist / Trainer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree in the field of computer science (preferred).
  • Experience with Spreadsheets (required).
  • Excellent communication skills (required).
  • SQL proficiency (Highly valued)
  • Knowledge of educational reporting practices (preferred).

REPORTS TO:

Technology Director or designee

JOB GOAL:

Manage institutional records and reporting for the School District

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Data Curation: Collate, validate, and maintain data from multiple data sources. Share data with stakeholders in usable format. May need to attend district data meetings, administrative team meetings, etc.
  2. Data Collection: Collect, verify, and submit data to satisfy Local, State and Federal reporting requirements.
  3. System Administration; of Student Information System and other district databases.
  4. Advanced Data Tasks: SQL query writing, data recovery, warehousing. Creation of views, procedures and tables.
  5. Custom Development: Create reports, exports, automations, visualizations, web-applications, and mailings.
  6. Process Improvement: Pro-actively absorb district data tasks; learn data workflows and find efficiencies.
  7. Software Support: Gain expertise in district software, provide local training, support, and documentation.
  8. Assessment Support: Synchronize student data with assessment vendors. Manage and support user accounts.
  9. Technical Competence: Mac, Windows, and Chromebook experience. Ability to produce training documentation that end users can understand.

OTHER EXPECTATIONS:

  1. Supports the District’s mission and goals
  2. Maintains confidentiality
  3. Provides technology related central office technology support
  4. Provides in-service workshops and software training to school & district personnel
  5. Keeps abreast of new technology and remains technically competent
  6. Performs such other tasks as may be assigned by the Superintendent, Technology Director, or designee
