Responsibilities

Group Lead - Maintenance position's primary objective is to aid the department supervisor manager and / or manager in the instruction and direction of other associates and temporary workers in the department and direct the inspection, repair, installation, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment, safety/fire protection systems, production machinery, utilities, and auxiliary equipment.

Description of duties and responsibilities:

  • Work with Facility Manager, Plant Manager, and/or Engineering Manager to determine priorities.
  • Expedites repairs, changes and completes experimental work as necessary.
  • Monitor and maintain assigned job schedules
  • Communicate/coordinate equipment issues (any resource inhibiting production) to appropriate areas & assist with resolution.
  • Communicate effectively and coordinate work activities with outsourced contractors, supervisors, engineering, factory managers, and others to ensure project requirements
  • Monitor compliance to all company policies, procedures, standards and goals and notify maintenance supervisor/engineering manager of issues or concerns.
  • Appropriately address work related issues with associates as needed.
  • Make decisions during supervisor's absence.
  • Analyze and plan each job in order to determine tools, equipment, manpower and materials necessary.
  • Provide support, guidance, and coaching to Maintenance
  • Make repairs to equipment as able, or reports issues to appropriate staff.
  • Support associates with problem solving and inquiries, and handles escalated issues.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment
  • Work with engineers, supervisors, outsourced vendors/contractors, production managers etc. to correct issues that arise.
  • Complete reports and other departmental paperwork as assigned.
  • Plan for, order / purchase and maintain appropriate and adequate stocks of parts, materials, and tooling needed to support plant projects, repairs, and daily maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance program, ensuring that PM tasks are completed on time, that PM tasks are added for new equipment, and that PM tasks are removed from the program when equipment is retired.
  • Assist with preparing maintenance budgets, continuously monitor maintenance spend against budget.
  • Review JSAs as assigned
  • Conduct/participate in regular safety meetings
Qualifications

Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills that promote teamwork, guide others in accomplishing work objectives
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain good working relationships with co-workers at all levels within the organization and to direct and assist employees to meet production requirements and customer service expectations.
  • Ability to handle stress, manage multiple tasks and possess the willingness and ability to work overtime and other shifts, as necessary, including call-ins.
  • Demonstrated initiative and willingness to do more than the minimum required.
  • Demonstrated positive attitude that is team and goal oriented, and willingness to follow directions.
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills
  • Willingness to work in all conditions inside and outside of building and with hand and power equipment/tools.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel 10-20% to New Hampshire, Maine and possibly OK.
  • Willingness to work with Maintenance technicians from our other facilities, both within and outside Globe.
  • Ability to lift 75-100 lbs. occasionally.
  • Logical thinker.
  • Willing to work overtime as necessary.
  • Able to work within a team and independently meeting goals.
  • Able to read and understand technical manuals.
  • Creative problem-solver.
  • Basic computer knowledge (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Education and experience required:

  • High School diploma
  • 5 years minimum experience in facilities maintenance.
  • Will require completion of department(s) training program for designated areas of responsibility.

Preferred:

  • Previous group leader and/or supervisory experience
  • 6-8 years of experience in facilities maintenance
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and SAP
