Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Own small to medium-sized software development tasks in Java Collaborate with engineering staff to implement solutions that are aligned with and extend the direction of the application under development Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques Build features that enable automated message generation (HL7, Wed Services) and the automated inspection of received data Work on core data structures/algorithms implemented in Java Education Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) A minimum of 2 years of java coding experience Work experience in Java coding and a working knowledge of SQL Preferred Experience Technical Experience: Experience developing applications in Java Experience in Behavior Driven Development or Test Driven Development Experience with issue-tracking and agile project management systems such as Confluence, Rally, etc. Experience working with and writing SQL statements Experience working with virtual machines (VMs) as part of a test/integration infrastructure Business Acumen: Has the ability to break down problems and estimate time for development tasks. Has the ability to make basic technology choices based on experience Personal/Leadership Attributes: Ability to work independently Strong oral and written communication skills Persists to completion, especially in the face of overwhelming odds and setbacks.
