Position Summary:

· Single-person Legal Dept. ⦁ Responsibilities include, but are not limited to,: ⦁ Employment law compliance; ⦁ Wage and hour law compliance; ⦁ Legal research; ⦁ Track proposed legislative bills; ⦁ Update employee handbook to comply with newly enacted legislation; ⦁ Provide HR guidance when needed regarding leaves of absence; ⦁ Draft severance agreements; ⦁ Litigation management ⦁ Contract review and negotiation; ⦁ Federal contractor compliance, including export controls and cybersecurity; ⦁ Provide IT guidance regarding implementation of federal contractor cybersecurity standards (i.e., CMMC 2.0); ⦁ Corporate governance, including BOD resolutions; ⦁ California Consumer Privacy Act (i.e., CCPA) compliance; ⦁ Coordinate Cal/OSHA regulation compliance with others; ⦁ Annual insurance package renewal; ⦁ Property loss claims; ⦁ ERISA (i.e., 401 (k) plan and employee benefit plan) compliance; Handling of all legal matters that arise in the course of business.

Minimum Qualifications :

· Juris Doctorate (J.D) Degree.

· California State Bar License (Active).

· 3-5 Years of Experience with a Medium Size Company/Law Firm.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel.

· Employment Law/Wage and Hour Law Experience Preferred.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to President.
