Flightstar is currently seeking a Shift Manager to drive and oversee our maintenance operations on 2nd shift. The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in leadership roles, thorough knowledge and understanding of aircraft maintenance procedures and supporting MRO operations.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for supporting the Program Manager in identifying and planning scheduled work aligned with the forecasted workflow and setting milestones. The Maintenance Planner communicates frequently with maintenance leadership regarding the scheduling needs of all resources including manpower, parts, tools, and equipment. Planning consists of identifying, tracking, and acquiring the necessary parts/tools to execute planned tasks cards. Interface with customer representatives regarding details on T&M work and obtaining approvals.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviews work request for accuracy and clarity: clear scope of work, realistic completion date, proper lead times, correct equipment identification, proper authorization, and reviews with the Project Team.
  • Reviews the work to be performed in conjunction with the Project Team via the Routine Script provided by Planning & Production Control and communicates any necessary changes for updating of the master script.
  • Reviews the Redline Script in conjunction with the Project Team to determine the best way to facilitate the maintenance work to optimize inspection activity. Drives completion of the Redline within 10-15% of total visit span.
  • Work with the Project Team to Plan workflow ensuring that all resources are focused on completing job tasks within a specific event (milestone and zone), before proceeding to next/subsequent event.
  • Reviews the work to be performed and determines the best way to accomplish the work. Consults with assigned Maintenance Leadership and Materials as necessary.
  • Attends regularly scheduled pre-induction and daily customer project status briefings, as well as post check reviews to discuss potential opportunities.
  • Continuously improves and justifies the job estimate by assisting in planning and scheduling of jobs/resources in addition to receiving feedback from Maintenance Supervisors and Leads. Integrates non-routine work into the Routine Script workflow.
  • Reviews closed status task cards daily to ensure customer approval for labor and materials charges within 3 business days. Assists to resolve any customer issues with charges and reports the status of Project financial outlook weekly to Program Leadership.
  • Ensures that Finance can invoice the customer within 3 business days following redelivery.
  • Performs a daily turnover with Program Manager, Supervisors, and Leads to ensure smooth transition of pending items that require approval during the aircraft visit.
  • Acts as a liaison between the Leads, Supervisor, and Program Manager to establish and maintain a seamless workflow while providing necessary assistance to support redelivering the aircraft on schedule.
  • Interfaces with the PCA on work order status for the aircraft to ensure that all maintenance related tasks and services have been successfully entered into the ERP System through the use of daily Status Reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • English Proficiency
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Airframe and Powerplant License
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevance maintenance experience with Airbus and Boeing commercial aircraft
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Personal Skills: Dependability, Accountability, Organization, Communication

Preferences

  • Degree in Aircraft Maintenance
  • Airframe Familiarization (FAM) course certificates
  • Five (5) years of related experience in the commercial aviation maintenance industry. 
  • Advanced knowledge withing Flightstar's ERP system, EmpowerMX.
