About the Role
The Company is seeking a Business Development Officer to join their team. This role is pivotal in serving the banking needs of small businesses and operating at the core of the local business community to foster new relationships. The successful candidate will be responsible for proactively building a book of business, with a target loan goal, and managing a client base that includes owner-occupied commercial real estate and other SBA eligible 7A loans. Key responsibilities include sales and outreach efforts, driving relationship management, and identifying cross-selling opportunities. The role also involves joint calling and prospecting with Product partners, developing a targeted COI list, and effectively utilizing resources to manage a consistent sales process.Applicants must have at least 5 years' of experience in SBA 7a loan production, a strong understanding of credit underwriting, and a proven ability to develop and expand relationships with COIs. The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask, and a strong business development acumen. A network of established referral partners is essential, as is the ability to work in a changing, high-tech, and mobile environment. The ideal candidate will have an outgoing personality, high emotional intelligence, and be open to learning and growth. Familiarity with regulatory requirements for lending and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce are also necessary for this position.
