Custodian - Facilities AttendantBasic FunctionPerforms a variety of facilities functions both indoors and outdoors to support technical and administrative operations throughout MRIGlobal’s portfolio of facilities. This is a day shift, Monday to Friday position.Nature and ScopeSupports the mission of the Facilities department by conducting cleaning both technical and non-technical spaces as well as performing general building maintenance and operational support activities:General and detail cleaning of offices, restrooms, corridors, laboratories, break areas, conference rooms, and common areas, as assignedTrash collection and removal, window washing, dusting, vacuuming, etc.Floor maintenance includes stripping/re-finishing, auto-scrubbing, buffing, carpet/upholstery and working with different types of floor equipmentGeneral facilities (building) maintenanceGrounds up keeping/cleaning and maintenanceOffice furniture movesConference room set up for events and porter servicesEssential FunctionsGeneral and detail cleaning: Offices, restrooms, conference rooms, corridors, stairwells, elevators, dock area, gym locker rooms, showers, exercise rooms, entrances, lobby areas, windows, etc.Furniture Moves:Moves office furniture such as desks, shelves, cabinets, tables, and laboratory. Regularly lift/carry up to 50lbs. Occasionally lift items up to 100lbs utilizing Team Lift concepts.Floor maintenance experience is needed:Stripping/refinishing, scrubbing/top-coating, auto-scrubbing, buffing, carpet/upholstery cleaning, etc...Grounds maintenance requirements:Must be willing to tour and clean the grounds as neededCollecting debris, leaves, branches, stones, etc... Sweeping curbs, walks, lots, steps Pulling/killing weeds, digging, planting, watering, trimming, pruning, tilling, etc...Snow/ice removal and salt application in the winter season (as needed)Success FactorsAbility to work independently alone or as a teamAbility to effectively communicate (verbal and written)Can follow instructions to complete time sensitive tasksInterfaces with internal and external clientsManages time well to ensure completion of assigned tasksIs reliable and willing to assist others to complete expanded workloadsGood attendance is very important Minimum QualificationsAt least 2 years’ experience in the custodial/facilities maintenance department.This position requires the ability to lift 75 pounds, stoop, bend, reach overhead, and climb, as well as operate vacuums, floor machines, and common implements associated with custodial and facility maintenance duties. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. In order to meet the government security investigation requirements, U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite.
