MRI Technologies is Hiring a NASA System Verification and Validation Engineer Near Houston, TX

MRI, a woman-owned Technologies and Engineering Services company, has an exciting opportunity for a System Verification and Validation Engineer on the JETS II Contract at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. We are excited about what we do, and we need you on our team as we take on exciting challenges for NASA's pursuits in deep space exploration.

As a System Verification and Validation Engineer you will:

  • Develop test cases and test scripts for software verification efforts
  • Integrate software from various vendors
  • Develop tests for dynamic physical systems
  • Develop data analysis and simulation techniques
  • Perform other duties as required

Here's What You'll Need:

Requisition Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2- 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Experience working as part of an Integrated Product Team to develop and test high criticality software
  • Experience with highly autonomous systems
  • Experience with web-based collaboration tools
  • Proficiency with C/C coding in a Linux environment
  • Experience with agile software development
  • Should be a quick learner and self-motivated
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and coordination skills and strong customer service attitude

Requisition Preferences:

  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python
  • Experience developing software across the full development life cycle
  • Knowledge of the NASA Gateway Spacecraft systems and software
  • Experience with the following web-based collaboration tools:
    • JIRA
    • Confluence
    • Slack
    • SharePoint
  • Safety and flight critical software development NASA software and systems development standards

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position.

Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Essential Functions

Work Environment

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.

Other Essential Functions

Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.

As we are a Federal Contractor, most positions require the employee to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government background investigation. MRI also completes a pre-screening background check for anyone offered employment.
