Position: 2nd shift Machine Set Up Operator Grind Dept. This is accomplished through four key disciplines: material sourcing, unique process development, strategic business focus, and caring for our customers like partners. The company is embarking on an aggressive growth strategy that will include both organic and acquisition growth. Our Machine Set Up Operators play an important role in the execution of this strategy.Job requirements:
  • Setup, run, and troubleshoot our centerless grinding equipment and tools in shop.
  • Select and install proper tooling following set-up guidelines.
  • Able to install parts properly on grinding equipment, and properly indicate tool holder position.
  • Able to recognize errors and change out and make proper adjustments during running operations.
  • Properly read blue prints and inspect first parts for non-conforming parts
  • Perform non-grinding tasks when necessary: non-grind equipment operation, hand-work operations, inspections, saw-cut operations, etc.
  • Maintains safe operations and clean work environment.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Skills and Experience:
  • 1 years’ experience in manufacturing/production environment.
  • Ideal candidate would be proficient in running both infeed and thrufeed grinding machines, but we will entertain candidates that only have experience in one or the other.
  • Ability to read & understand blueprints and technical documents commensurate with machine operation.
  • Mechanically inclined - Interest and aptitude working with and troubleshooting engines or machines and understanding how they operate
  • Ability to learn new techniques and be cross-trained in other roles
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Tech/trade school, industry/equipment supplier training certificates a plus.
