Salary: Starting at $22.00 an hour

Job Summary:

The Mechanic is responsible for working alongside the Fleet Supervisor in driving the company’s Fleet Success. Ensuring productive, organized, and safe work environments as well as Quality Equipment Preparedness. The Mechanic is involved with all activities related to preventative maintenance and vehicle repair of gas and diesel equipment. This role frequently coordinates with other departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely and quality repairs to equipment and own safe work practices and quality compliance.
  • Routinely check work area and surrounding areas including the Fleet Shop, and Yard for Safety Hazards, Organization and Cleanliness.
  • Follow procedures and ensure all incidents are promptly reported and investigated. If an employee is not following the proper procedure – notify Department Leaders. 
  • Perform Vehicle Maintenance to include Inspecting and Repairing Equipment with Gasoline and Diesel Engines. Perform preventative maintenance, Troubleshooting and Diagnostic work, and completing service work orders as scheduled.
  • Monitor inventory of parts, tools and report to Department Leaders when reorder is required.
  • Perform DVIR’s as directed by the Department Manager.
  • Perform work on all Equipment as directed by Department Leaders, under the scope of qualifications and training.
  • On Occasion, may be assigned to operate all equipment.
  • Coordinate with other departments and provide team members with Fleet Specific Insight.
  • All Other Duties as Assigned.

Required/Preferred Skills and Abilities: 

  • Driver's License 
  • DOT Medical Card 
  • Ability to Switch Tasks Quickly
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience:

  • 3 Years of experience in a Mechanic Role, Preferred.
  • PA State Inspections License (Class 7), Preferred
  • AC - (EPA 609) Certified, Preferred 
  • Welding Experience, Preferred
  • OSHA-10 Certification, a plus 
  • Auto Tech Experience preferred.
  • Machine Operating Experience, a plus

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to Perform all Fleet Maintenance Work 
  • Must be able to drive a CMV 
  • Often required to sit, stand, walk, bend knees, and stretch arms
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
