BROAD FUNCTION

The Electronics Engineers designs, develops, tests, and administers the manufacturing of electrical Breath Alcohol Testing equipment. The Electronics Engineer contributes directly to new instrument product development and modifications supporting existing instrumentation. This position works closely with other engineers, technical support personnel, and the sales team to meet customer demands.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop and maintain:
   • Hardware/software design for embedded microprocessor-based products.
   • Software/Firmware languages: C, C , C# & Assembly languages for software emulators.
   • Develop test programs and test procedures.
2. Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and schematic development.
3. Develop digital signal processors (DSP).
4. Prototype testing and modification.
5. Troubleshoot breath alcohol products down to the component level.
6. Prepare user documentation.
7. Interface with customers to identify user needs and propose suitable solutions.
8. Travel to customer and vendor sites for projects and/or training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• The ideal candidate will have Three to seven years of commensurate experience, including:
• Digital software /hardware development for instrumentation built on embedded systems
• C/C program development in conjunction with real-time operating systems and
• Utilization of software version control tools
• Knowledge of circuit layout techniques.
• Experience with digital and analog circuit design for microprocessor-based systems.
• Solid skills in developing applications and SDKs for Windows CE/Mobile platform.
• Solid written and oral communication skills
• Physical demands of the position, include but is not limited to:
• Sedentary workstation - sitting, bending, turning, typing, grasping.
• Lifting to 25 pounds, as needed.
• Sound visual acuity to see and manipulate small electronic components and view the computer screen.
