Summary

The Production Supervisor is directly responsible for overseeing the assembling and proper packaging of our product. The Processing Supervisor will directly supervise a large group of hourly employees. This person carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable law.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate employee activities in the processing plant able to communicate in Spanish and English.
• Ensure work orders are completed in a timely manner and within budget.
• Provide your team with updates regarding production demands and deadlines.
• Create a positive work environment for team and resolve issues as they arise.
• Increase employee efficiency and production rates.
• Work with other supervisors to coordinate operational activities within and across departments.
• Ensure production team abide by GMP’s, safety, sanitation and other regulations.
• The Processing Supervisor will spend 80% - 90% of their time on the plant floor. Extensive knowledge and experience supervising the day-to-day activities of the production/processing department is strongly preferred.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role (food Industry)
• Basic computer skills.
• Have experience working in a line or packing food. Must be able to supervise up to 90 employees.
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
• Must be able to work in a wet and cool environment. Production area maintained at a 45- degree temperature.
• Strong communication skills.
• Bilingual: Spanish strongly preferred.
• Seafood knowledge a plus.
• Knowledgeable of HACCP and GMP practices.
• Flexible schedule required, may work six days when needed to complete orders.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field preferred.
