Movement Schools is a rapidly growing network of public charter schools. We exist to love and value students by leading a movement of change in education through academic excellence, character development, and preparation for success in life. We believe in the inherent value and dignity of every child, and build schools where students and staff thrive.
Each Movement School is part of a larger community investment to help children and families thrive. These broader investments include early-childhood education, wellness centers, and after-school care.
At Movement Pre-K, Lead teachers provide developmentally appropriate play-based learning that promotes students’ academic, and social-emotional skills in a joyful and equitable environment. Lead teachers create and maintain a sense of belonging and care for students and their families within their classroom community, and in alignment with the community culture of the school. Lead teachers are responsible for the well-being, safety, and academic and social emotional development of their students with the intention of developing a love of learning in all scholars. High quality instruction paired with relationship building, emotional support, and strong classroom organization skills are essential to this role. All Pre-K lead teacher positions report to Pre-K leadership.
All Pre-K Teachers are paired with an Assistant Teacher or a Co-Teacher. Our co-teaching structure allows for purposeful collaboration, high teacher responsiveness, and differentiated instruction. Each Friday at Movement School and Movement Pre-K is a half-day for students, allowing teachers time for weekly professional development related to content/instructional knowledge, classroom management, and data analysis.
