Job Summary and Qualifications

The Infection Preventionist promotes and delivers high quality, patient-centered care by assisting with the administration of Infection Prevention policies, procedures and programs. As a part of the Infection Prevention team, the Infection Preventionist identifies, investigates, reports, and monitors the incidence of nosocomial infections among patients and personnel, and implements policies and procedures to prevent cross-contamination. The Infection Preventionist is also responsible for assisting with in-service programs related to infection prevention and infection control, and with the clinical aspects of the Employee Health Program, including pre-employment processing, occupational health testing and surveillance.


Education & Experience:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing DiplomaOr
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or health-related field - Required
  • 1 years experience in a clinical setting - Preferred
  • 1 years experience in Infection Control - Preferred
  • 1 years experience in a leadership role - Preferred

Licensure, Certifications, Training:

  • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the State of Nevada and/or has and active compact license. om accordance with law and regulation
  • Certification in Infection Control - within 2 years
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
  • Membership in a professional organization - Preferred
