NURSE ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR

Location: 2301 W Ashton Boulevard, Lehi, UT 84043

Status: Full-Time / Non-Exempt

Hours: Monday - Friday; 7:00am - 3:30pm

Pay / Salary: $60,147.40

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities of the Nurse Assistant Instructor include, but are not limited to:

• Provide effective instruction and facilitate student learning for the program.
• Work with other faculty and administrators to build and/or maintain curriculum with clear learning objectives. This includes textbook and software selection.
• Develop and/or maintain lesson plans and supplemental instructional materials for classroom and lab activities
• Schedule, supervise, debrief, and evaluate students in lab, clinical, externship, or other work-based learning activities
• Mentor students, providing regular feedback on progress, with the central goal of the program being student success. This includes completion of the program, successfully passing any required licensure or certification tests, and placement in related employment.
• Update Northstar with progress, rolls, and academic improvement plans as required
• Utilize the Learning Management System and orient new students to it.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• The Primary Instructor must be a licensed nurse with a current, active Utah license to practice; who is in good standing with the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing.
• Must have three years of nursing experience, at least one of which is in the provision of long-term care facility services or caring for the elderly or chronically ill of any age.
• Experience in and ability to successfully interact with high school and adult students, parents, business, and industry representatives, other educators and educational institution representatives, and the general public in a professional manner.
• Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques;
• Working knowledge and skill of up-to-date methods, and techniques;
