RV SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Mountaineer RV is searching for an RV Service Technician with a background in maintenance, construction, electrical and plumbing. This is a hands on position. The ideal candidate will have previous RV Service Technician experience with diagnostic and repair skills. A mechanical aptitude is required. This is a hands on position and can be summarized as the following: diagnose, inspect, adjust, repair, or overhaul recreational vehicles including travel trailers. May specialize in maintaining gas, electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, construction or chassis/towing systems as well as repairing generators, appliances, and interior components. Pay will be based upon experience.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• RV certified technicians examine, troubleshoot and diagnose units that need repair and maintenance performed.
• Install, repair and maintain interior and exterior components on motor homes, travel trailers, and fifth wheel trailers.
• Installation of accessories, performing pre-delivery inspections, reading and writing of repair orders, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance on propane gas and electric appliances such as furnaces, refrigerators, water heaters, ranges and air conditioners, ability to install, repair, replace and maintain roofs, siding, windows, doors, slides, vent, awnings, floor coverings, cabinets, and electrical systems.
• Technicians will be required to install trailer and fifth wheel hitches, wire tow vehicles and perform routine maintenance and or repairs on the trailer frames, undercarriage and suspensions.
• Use of testing equipment, troubleshooting techniques, and the ability to repair to manufacturer's specifications.
• Use of manuals and catalogs as needed to perform proper diagnostics.
• Use of electronic and computerized instruments to perform diagnostics.
• Ability to communicate with supervisors, warranty and service managers and manufacturer representatives.
• Ability and desire to obtain Certifications and Licenses that are required.
• Take adequate pictures for submission of warrant-able repairs.
• Complete paperwork timely, consistently & accurately to properly account for time of repairs.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to pass drug testing
• Must be willing to further oneself w/completion of trainings and certifications
• Must be dependable, friendly, enthusiastic and self-motivated

EDUCATION:

• Completion of High School or a GED is required.
• RVIA/RVDA certifications if applicable.

ADDITIONAL:

• Technicians are responsible to purchase their own tools.
