We are seeking a dedicated and experienced CNA INSTRUCTOR/CHARGE NURSE - LVN or RN to join our team. The CNA Instructor/Charge Nurse will be responsible for planning, organizing, and teaching classes for individuals aspiring to become Certified Nursing Assistants. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and healthcare, as well as a strong commitment to helping students succeed. During downtime and when no classes are occurring, the ideal candidate will assist throughout the facility as a charge nurse. Reliability, trustworthiness, and consistency with regard to attendance are extremely important to this job. The ability to regularly and timely attend work, cooperate and politely work and deal with others, and effectively multi-task and work in a stressful environment are also essential functions of this job

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement lesson plans in accordance with state-approved curriculum and program requirements.
  • Provide instruction in both classroom and clinical settings, ensuring that all material is presented in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Evaluate student performance through examinations, quizzes, and practical demonstrations.
  • Provide feedback and support to students to help them succeed in the program.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
  • Stay current with developments in the field of nursing and incorporate new information into the curriculum as needed.
  • Collaborate with other instructors and staff to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, workshops, and other professional development activities.
  • Give direction to Nurse Aides for appropriate care of residents.
  • Properly administer resident medication.
  • Implement resident care plans in compliance with Company and federal guidelines and physician's orders.
  • Perform treatments.
  • Accurately and promptly transcribe physician orders.
  • Timely and accurate documentation of residents' charts. Complete Nursing assessment as required.
  • Participate in shift reports.
  • Implement established nursing policy and procedures, educating support staff regarding care needs of residents.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, complying with infection control and body mechanic procedures.
  • Respond to the need for staffing shortages by arranging for replacement staff.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse or Licensed /Vocational Nurse in good standing.
  • Minimum ONE year of nursing experience in a facility.
  • Have completed a course in teaching adults or have experience in teaching adults or supervising nurse aides.
  • Excellent technical, assessment and documentation skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to organize work flow, respond to emergencies and note detail.
