To help our clients achieve these goals, we provide a range of evidence-based therapeutic services, including therapy, psychoeducation, dual diagnosis counseling, coping mechanisms, aftercare planning and more—all in a safe and nurturing environment.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Medication Technician is responsible to maintain the daily medical needs and medication needs of all clients in Mountain Springs. The Medication Technician will maintain logs, counts, and client compliance of medications and monitoring for med adjustments. Communicate with staff all aspects of client health and medications. Communicate with families and pharmacy daily as needed. Provide staff education/training on medication and logging meds.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor the needs and behaviors of clients.
  • Input relative orders into medical management software.
  • Order new medication for continued care.
  • Oversee and manage client medical needs.
  • Complete intake procedures for new Admits.
  • Investigate any irregularities and/or incidents on site.
  • Document daily living activities of clients.
  • Create and update educational documents for staff training and continued staff education.
  • Follow up with other departments regarding ongoing client care and documentation.
  • Follow all HIPAA regulations.
  • Be awake during all shifts.
  • Recognize individuals under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and document as needed.
  • Assist in the availability of community services and resources.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings.
  • Respond well to emergencies and initiate action as required.
  • Utilize principles of communicable disease prevention and control.
  • Liaison for pharmacy for all current and future needs of clients.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge: The Medication Technician will:
  • Possess a basic knowledge of administrative functions including, interpersonal communications, office etiquette, and computer skills.
  • Possess strong work ethic and high standards of workmanship.
  • Possess an introductory understanding of chemical dependency
  • Possess an introductory understanding of the 12-step process
  • Possess active listening skills in the ongoing development and education of residential treatment services.
  • Basic knowledge of HIPPA compliance and privacy measures
Abilities: To excel in this position the Medication Technician should be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
  • Problem Solving – The Medication Technician will be able to identify and resolve problems in efficient and effective ways.
  • Ethics – Treat clients, staff, co-workers, visitors, contractors, and guests of Mountain Springs Recovery with respect and dignity; work ethically and uphold the values and standards or Mountain Springs Recovery.
  • Attendance, Punctuality, Reliability – Arrive on-site, on-time, as scheduled, consistently with a professional disposition. Ensure all work responsibilities are covered in the event of an absence or scheduled vacation.
  • Leadership – The Medication Technician should be able to lead and direct end users
  • Strong Character – Staying calm under pressure is essential. Having an approachable demeanor without compromising Mountain Springs Standards of ethics and workmanship.
  • Organization – Must be highly organized and efficient in managing the necessary daily client/staff demands and tasks associated with them.
  • Flexibility – Openness to different and new ways of doing things; willingness to modify one's
preferred way of doing things

QUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERENCES:

  • Current Colorado QMAP Certification required.
  • At least two years of sobriety if in recovery.
  • Experience or interest in chemical dependency and abuse.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with diversity.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification.

Salary - $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
Bonus Opportunity: $1,500.00 annualized
In addition to the base pay regular earnings, employees will have the opportunity to earn additional compensation in the form of a target flat rate bonus to be paid quarterly based on Company and program-specific performance achievement.

Schedule:

  • 12 hour shift - 6:00pm - 6:30am required

  • Monument, CO 80132: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
