Mountain Lakes Medical Center is currently recruiting for a full time Medical Billing Specialist. This position prepares, submits, and records all insurance information for patient and insurance billing. This position keeps a systematic set of hospital accounts receivable and account payable records and posts charges to individual ledger accounts of hospital patients. Previous medical billing experience is required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Bill and submit insurance claims appropriately and efficiently.

Ensure 80% of claims paid within 90 days.

Appropriate and timely follow-up on all remits, denied claims refiled within 5 days of remittance.

Assist with process to match payments to patient accounts, as appropriate.

Maintain effective relationships with collection agencies, insurance companies, computer centers, patients, physicians, administration, and other departments’ staff.

Maintain professional and courteous communication with patients, their responsible caregivers, and also with insurance providers concerning patient insurance inquiries regarding their billing.

Previous medical billing is preferred.
