Job Description:
Mountain Eye Partners is seeking a friendly and professional Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a crucial role in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring a smooth patient experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, reliable, and possesses excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment.
- Check patients in and out, verifying and updating necessary information.
- Schedule appointments, ensuring efficient use of provider's time and optimal patient flow.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries, providing accurate information and directing calls to appropriate personnel.
- Assist patients with completing registration forms and obtaining necessary documentation.
- Verify insurance coverage and process necessary paperwork related to billing and claims.
- Maintain patient records and ensure their confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collect and process patient payments, providing receipts and documenting transactions accurately.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient handoffs and effective communication.
- Schedule patients for surgery at affiliated ASCs
- Obtain prior authorizations for surgery
- Manage office supplies and maintain a clean and organized reception area.
- Assist with administrative tasks as assigned by the Practice Manager.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree preferred.
- Previous experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of health insurance protocols: verification, authorization, collection of payments. Familiarity with using Availity, UHCProvider Portal, and Cigna Provider Portal
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and scheduling software.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Positive attitude and a genuine desire to provide excellent customer service.
- Reliable and responsible team player

Pay: $19.25 - $23.18 per hour
