Physical Therapy Aide
Part Time – 20 hours per week
10 hour shifts
SUMMARY
As outlined in the Physical Therapy Practice Act in the State of California, a physical therapy aide is an unlicensed person who is specifically trained under the direction of a Physical therap8ist to perform routine tasks in the provision of physical therapy services. The physical therapy aide performs non-patient related tasks such as observation of the patient, transport of the patient, physical support during gait or transfer activities and housekeeping or clerical duties. The physical therapy aide can perform patient related tasks only under the orders, direction and immediate continuous supervision of the Physical Therapist in all services areas of the PT department including outpatient, skilled nursing, and Med Surg unit at MCH.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Must be at least 17 years of age and a senior in high school; prefer high school graduate.
No prior experience or training needed.
Prefer individual who plans to pursue a career in Physical Therapy as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist
Assistant
Prefer 100 hours of volunteer experience in a physical therapy setting.
