General Purpose:
The GM is responsible for partnering with MCP Leaders to align the resort with the vision of Mountain Capital Partners. The GM will execute a long term plan for the resort’s operational and financial growth and continued success, while being fully engaged in all aspects of the resorts operations including Mountain, Base and Resort Service Operations
Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:
Live MCP’s mission, vision, and culture of growing the sport of skiing and giving people the freedom to ski
Work with MCP Leaders to execute the long term vision for the growth and expansion of the resort
Lead the team to execute the strategic plan a strategic plan in place to meet long term goals for the resort in terms of growth and expansion
Planning and management of Capital Improvement Projects
Develop a yearly plan in place to achieve goals for the resort in terms of the guest experience, employee satisfaction, and profitability, with agreed-upon KPIs to measure those goals.
Create and prepare yearly resort budgets for approval with advice from appropriate stakeholders, including capital and operating budgets
Assemble a team at Sandia Peak that can support the vision and strategic plan for the resort
Mentor and develop the Sandia Peak Team to enable them to take on more responsibility and move up to new roles within MCP
Partner with senior resort leaders to set yearly goals for departments that align with overall resort goals, and develop KPIs to measure success in achieving those goals
Develop budgets and set operating plans that align with departmental and resort goals
Monitor the performance of the senior resort leaders, and provide feedback to ensure that they are supported in meeting their goals and objectives
Be knowledgeable in all areas of resort operations, and provide hands-on expertise when necessary
Partner with appropriate external stakeholders (e.g. Local and Tribal governments, the US Forest Service, Community Organizations) to help move the resort forward in its long term goals
Oversee the development of policies and procedures that reduce liability and create efficiencies
Be the resort champion with the community, government, industry, media and other important leaders
Approve pricing of all resort products
Planning and management of Capital Improvement Projects
Other Responsibilities:
Negotiate and sign contracts
Oversee timely and accurate reporting of all local, state and federal regulatory compliance requirements
Performing day-to-day administrative tasks as needed

Job Qualifications:
Education or Formal Training:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, management, or a relevant experience
Preferred:
Masters degree in business, management, or a relevant experience

Minimum of five years in a leadership role in the ski industry
Hands on leadership expertise in at least two areas of ski area operations such as lift operations, lift maintenance, trails/grooming, snowmaking, patrol, terrain park, vehicle maintenance, ski school, tickets, rentals, retail, guest services, food and beverage
Preferred:
Hands on leadership expertise in three or more areas of ski area operations such as lift operations, lift maintenance, trails/grooming, snowmaking, patrol, terrain park, vehicle maintenance, ski school, tickets, rentals, retail, guest services, food and beverage
Experience with Siriusware
Experience managing large capital projects in a ski resort setting
Working Environment/ Physical Activities: An average of 45% of the workday is spent indoors in an office environment and 55% is spent outdoors in constantly changing weather conditions.
