Qualifications: 1. Eighteen (18) years of age required; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Certification of First Aide training.
3. Successful completion of a Medication Technician Training Program.
4. Ability to communicate well (verbally and in writing), utilize creative problem-solving and handle problems diplomatically required.
5. Ability to relate well to geriatric residents; respectful and caring attitude towards residents required.
6. Physical stamina for constant activity required.
Job Summary: Assigned to assisting with medications and monitoring the personal care services provided by Resident Assistants; and reporting care and abnormal symptoms of residents to
staff of next shift and Resident Care Manager. May be required to handle emergencies, assuming supervisory duties of staff and building, as necessary.

2. Direct and monitor the personal care duties and procedures carried out by Resident Assistants. |
3. Assist Resident Assistants with direct care of residents, as necessary. |
4. Report to Resident Care Manager unusual symptoms, daily needs, and progress of residents. |
5. Follow the plan of care for each resident and monitor the performance of Resident Assistants in carrying out the appropriate aspects of the care plan. |
6. Responsible for all aspects of receiving, storing and distributing controlled substance medications; ensure proper placement and use of medication stored by facility, medication room refrigerator. |
7. Maintain documentation regarding the provision of care to residents in the Case Notes, Medication Administration Records and other required records. |
8. Assist in problem-solving related to staffing, supplies and resident care during shift. |
9. Ensure that resident care standards are maintained in performance of duties, and that the rights of residents and preferences in care and treatment are respected. |
10. Ensure that residents are treated with respect and kindness at all times. |
11. Perform first-aid services, and complete Accident/Incident Report for resident, staff and visitors. Must Be available weekends and holidays. |
