Job Description:
Mount Vernon UMC- Children’s House is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for young children.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote learning and development.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to explore and learn.
- Provide care for children's basic needs, including feeding, diapering, and nap time routines.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, providing regular updates on their child's progress and well-being.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of the daycare center and maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
- Follow all licensing regulations and safety protocols to ensure the health and safety of all children in your care.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; Child Development Associate (CDA) or Associate's/bachelor’s degree in early childhood education preferred.
- Previous experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or similar setting.
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
