Overview

Performs the duties of a Medical Dosimetrist under the supervision of the Technical Director, Medical Director and the medical physicist.

Qualifications

Education:

1) Completes training required to obtain certification as a Dosimetrist or must have additional training through a recognized program in medical dosimetry, or a minimum of one year dosimetry training under a certified physicist.

Experience:

1) At least one year experience as a Medical Dosimetrist.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

1) Must have the ability to function as a team member; and the ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with patients, staff members and physicians.2) Must demonstrate the ability to work with patients' families who are often under physical and/or emotional stress. 3) Must have ability to work cooperatively with other personnel in the department, in other areas of the Medical Center and in doctor's office.4) Intermediate computer operational/software skills.5) Ability to work well with patients, family members, physicians, visitors, coworkers, and others.6) Ability to work positively and with a caring attitude towards patients and their families who are often under physical and/or emotional stress.

License/Certification/Registration:

1) Current certification as a Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) or CMD eligible.2) Must be board certified within 1 year of hire date.3) Meets the American Heart Association’s standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years.
