Mount Mansfield Unified Union School District is Hiring an Early Multi-Tiered System of Supports Coach Near Jericho, VT

The Early Multi-Tiered System of Supports (EMTSS) coach will report to the MMUUSD Preschool Coordinator and will support the effective implementation of the district’s early multi-tiered system of supports (EMTSS) model and vision for Prek & K. The EMTSS Coordinator will support all EMTSS procedures across the district, including communicating with school site teams, developing training for school staff and teachers, providing resources in the area of EMTSS, guiding school-based processes, and monitoring data.

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with district administrators, school-based leadership teams, and teachers to facilitate implementation of the early (Prek/k) multi-tiered system of supports (EMTSS) at the district and school levels.
  • Monitor the fidelity of implementation of EMTSS at school sites, including the identification of students, delivery of Tier 2 and 3 interventions, and progress monitoring.
  • Coach school sites on analyzing student needs and identifying research-based interventions across behavior and social-emotional learning (SEL).
  • Help establish data collection and analysis procedures through a data system to inform decision-making around student needs and district/school resource allocation.
  • Coordinate and facilitate EMTSS professional development and training for school-based and district staff.
  • Compile and report on effectiveness of interventions on a monthly basis to improve district and school systems.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with teaching staff and administrators.
  • The majority of time for this position will be spent conducting demonstration lessons, and providing support and assistance to teachers in classrooms.
  • Conduct focused observations and provide “next step” support to prek/k teachers using The Teaching Pyramid Observation Tool (TPOT)
  • Provide formal and informal feedback and professional development for teachers on instructional strategies and classroom practices aligned to research and standards-based tiered instructional practices
  • Meet regularly with school teams focused on EMTSS for students to help them analyze data, identify students who need additional support, develop the necessary support, determine if additional analysis is needed, and set up monitoring systems.
  • Serve as a resource to identify instructional strategies and maximize resources to support tiered instruction
  • Perform other duties as assigned in accordance Preschool Coordinator and Director of Special Services

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent working experience
  • Knowledge of a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) model, implementation of EMTSS, and intervention strategies
  • Experience designing and delivering professional development and coaching/mentoring of teaching staff.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and work collaboratively with other teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create positive relationships
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient in intervention management software and Google Workspace.
  • Five plus years of experience working with preschool and kindergarten aged children and families.
  • Experience conducting child observations and environmental assessments.
  • Experience implementing and training on Pyramid Model practices or other social and emotional frameworks.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in ECE/ECSE, Early Childhood and Family Mental Health or a related field or teaching certificate/license with ECE/ECSE endorsement.\
  • At least five years experience working with young children requiring diverse supports and special health needs including young children with developmental delays and disabilities.
  • Experience implementing and training on Pyramid Model practices or other social and emotional frameworks .

Length of Employment: August 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025.

This position is a .6 FTE (24 hours per week). Pro-rated benefits are offered. We offer flexibility within the school schedule.
