Underhill Central School is scenically located with a magnificent view of Mount Mansfield. UCS has an opening for a late afternoon custodian for three hours every day, Monday through Friday. This role reports to and works collaboratively with the Head of Maintenance and School Principal. This position will plan, organize, coordinate and oversee the activities of the plant operations and maintenance functions necessary to maintain the physical structures and aesthetic of the building.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Building Maintenance:

• Primary responsibilities include cleaning, vacuuming, trash removal and recycling.
• Performs other job duties and projects as directed (basic repairs,etc)
• A sense of humor, love of children, and willingness to be a member of the UCS community is key to this position.
• Strong and proactive to the school cleanliness and appearance of the building
• Takes initiative and pride in caring for all areas of the building
• Complete all training as needed and participate in continuing education opportunities for personal growth and development
• Keeps up to date with communication and job related changes

Qualifications:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally
• Ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally
• Ability to work independently and autonomously
• Ability to handle multiple demands and prioritize effectively
• Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products
• Ability to project a friendly, upbeat and approachable personality and communicate courteously and efficiently
• Ability to interpret and apply common sense and understanding of manuals
• Regular, predictable and reliable attendance
• Ensures compliance with all OSHA and Department of Health regulations
