Mount Laurel Animal Hospital is Hiring a Veterinary Assistant Near Pennsauken, NJ

Pennsauken Animal Hospital is growing! We are undergoing a large renovation and expansion that will award us the title of largest veterinary practice in Camden County, NJ. Our new building will be equipped with a state-of-the-art surgery suite, in-hospital STAT lab, ICU and Emergency/Urgent Care wing, feline and canine friendly Primary Care wings, and many more exciting medical additions. 

We are looking for a veterinary assistant who is eager to learn and who will utilize their current experience to help enhance our patient care.

The ideal candidate would have at least one year experience in veterinary care and be proficient in:

· Assisting doctors with examinations on patients

· Assisting technicians with treatments (ie: walking dogs, cleaning cages, etc)

· Ability to properly restrain patients for lab work, exams, and treatments

· Able to learn IMPROMED including input of charges and medical record keeping

· Able to set up and perform radiographs

· Stocking and cleaning treatment room

· Sending out lab work and performing in house bloodwork

· Knowledge of commonly used medications

- Ensuring our hospital is clean and disinfected

- Cleaning up after and prepping for surgeries

You would have off on all major holidays, as our hospital is closed, and while some nights and weekend are required you wouldn't be on-call after hours. You would be encouraged to learn and grow your skills and can take advantage of a generous CE allowance to attend conferences and online programs. Our services include wellness, urgent care, sick visits, dentistry, and surgery. We offer digital radiographs, digital dental radiographs, ultrasound, an in-house laboratory, and a fully stocked pharmacy. We work hard to maintain relationships with existing clients as well as focusing on community outreach and creating new clients relationships. We pride ourselves on client education ensuring that we answer all questions that clients may have regarding the care of their pet(s). We work very closely with several local rescues and have contracts with local animal control to offer care to many animals within our local communities.
