Description

Summary:

Provides centralized referral and pre-cert duties per insurance protocols. Maintains open communication to all health centers in assuring referral and pre-cert needs are being met. Provides open communication to all service members and participating Primary Care Providers per MDI Hospital contracts.

Requirements

Education, Training or Certifications Required:

Minimum High School diploma.

Experience Required:

1. 3-5 years medical office experience.
2. Strong computer skills required.

Special Requirements:

1. Emotional maturity and good people skills required.
2. Ability to work with distressed or anxious patients or family members required.
3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing/variety of different employees.
4. Team focused, ability to work and provide support to the team.

Cognitive Requirements:

1. Ability to take in, process and apply clinical information in a wide variety of patient care situations.
2. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
3. Ability to listen effectively to patients and employees and route them to appropriate personnel.

Physical Demands:

1. Ability to sit/stand/walk for up to eight hours per day.
2. Able to perform under stress.
3. May involve extended sitting.
4. Use of VDT, Hand/eye coordination (typing)
