Mount Alvernia Academy, a Catholic, Franciscan, coed school from Preschool to Grade 6, is seeking a full or part-time Learning Specialist for the 2024-2025 school year.The successful candidate will:ability to work with students from Kindergarten through Grade 6 in all subject areas with a focus on literacywork with the Learning Specialist to evaluate students’ progress toward learning objectivesprovide small group instruction or push-in classroom instruction as needed in conjunction with IEPs, Learning Plans, or teachers’ needsdifferentiate teaching methods, assignments, assessments, and strategies to meet students' needsregular communication and meetings with Learning Specialist and teachers regarding students’ progresscontribute to progress reports, report cards, and changes to the learning plan with the Learning Specialist and teachersQualifications: BA required; MA preferred Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, or Lindamood-Bell preferred Work EnvironmentRegular attendance is a necessary and essential function. Consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance is essential for the supervision and instruction of the students. While performing the duties of this job, the teacher is frequently required to kneel, stoop, bend, and/or crouch. The teacher is periodically required to stand while talking and listening.
