Title: Engineer III - Electrical Interconnect

Location: 3420 Toringdon Way, Suite 340, Charlotte, NC 28277

Duties:Perform front-end engineering and cost estimation for power generating plants and interconnection facilities. Development and testing of load flow, short circuit, and dynamics models. Review and refinement of transmission and distribution planning studies. Negotiation of interconnection agreements and upgrade requirements. Development of automation tools to improve duplicative functions. Mentoring and directing the work of designers, juniors, and CAD drafters on assigned projects. Providing first-level QA/QC oversight for their portion of work as such. Support company's goals and represent the company, positively and professionally. Continuous improvement of job-related, engineering technical and professional knowledge, skills, and performance. Position is in a fixed location based in Charlotte, NC office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed.

Requirements: Requires a Master's in Electrical Engineering or a directly related field plus two (2) years of experience as an Engineer or other occupation/position/job title involving experience in engineering design.

Experience may be gained concurrently and must include two (2) years in each of the following:

- Designing engineering for commercial or utility scale renewable systems, including the interconnection design at primary distribution voltages

- Applying electrical engineering knowledge in areas of relay, physical, or civil engineering

- Working with ISO and developers.

Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor's degree plus four (4) years of described experience. Multiple Positions.
