Job Description:

We are currently hiring for a Hydrotester to test piping using water pressure and carefully document results. We are looking for a hard-working, eager to learn individual to read and interpret blueprints and instructions to perform a series of hydrostatic testing on product using various tools and processes. You will be handling metal, and metal products. The employee in this position will cross-train to other positions to help the coatings and quality departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hydro test various pipelines and/or cylinders for strength and leaks
  • Complete necessary documentation for testing requirements and results
  • Verify that vessels, procedures and processes conform to applicable work instructions and that finished products meet specifications
  • Read, interpret, and follow blueprints and hydro testing procedures
  • Report issues to leadership/management
  • Accurately measure parts and product
  • Read and perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Assist with all duties associated with powder coating metal parts and product
  • Perform any other reasonable request deemed necessary by leadership/management

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma and/or GED
  • At least 1 year of experience in heavy fabrication/manufacturing. Experience in hydro-testing preferred.
  • Understand fundamentals of filling, pressure testing, dewatering and cleaning & drying of pipes
  • Must have functional knowledge of fill pumps, pressure pumps, and air compressors
  • Basic knowledge of reading blueprints
  • Proficient knowledge of hand tools usage
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Basic knowledge of computer operation
  • Good communication and writing skills
