DESCRIPTION
Moss Landscaping is an award-winning, full-service landscape firm serving the Greater Houston area, including River Oaks, Memorial, West University and The Heights. We believe in quality and ensuring our clients investments, while continuing to add value to the property long after the original installation. The Materials Procurement admin is responsible for preparing, examining, and analyzing proposals/invoices that involve the purchase or sale of goods or services such as labor and materials for the Company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Oversee the preparation for the project based on the contracts that involve the purchase or sale of goods and services.
Organize and keep nursery area neat and tidy, stage plants for jobs, ensure proper watering, suggest improvements to promote a safe, efficient, logistically organized working environment, and avoid warranty situations due to loss of plants.
Responsible for the sourcing, acquisition, distribution, and store of materials as well as return of unclaimed materials.
Support team when stocking materials as well as support field crews with plant material changes.
Responsible for quality control and inspecting goods.
Prepare and disseminate information to appropriate employees regarding material status.
Keep up to date and accurate prices and descriptions of materials in estimating software.
Ensure that the contractor is in compliance with legal requirements, owner specifications and government regulations. (i.e. Transportation of Citrus across county/state lines)
Perform closing activities as needed.
Communicates, suggests, and confirms seasonal color selections with sales reps.
SKILLS
Able to identify and use correct plant/material names typically used in our region.
Team oriented and able to offer support on special projects where needed.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, statutes, ordinances, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Skill in communicating effectively, orally and in writing.
Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Operation of specialized equipment or machinery.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Involves office and outdoor work in all regional weather conditions.
Involves lifting or moving of material ranging in size, weight, and quantity.
