Job Summary:

Moss & Associates is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Travel Excavator Operator to join our dynamic construction team. The Operator will be responsible for operating hydraulic or cable-operated excavators/transferring heavy equipment to various worksites across different locations as per project requirements. This role requires extensive travel, adaptability to diverse working environments, and a commitment to safety standards. Experienced in Skid Steers, Excavator, Forklift, Dump Truck

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operation of Heavy Equipment: Safely operate excavators and other heavy machinery, including setup, inspection, maintenance, and minor repairs. Handle tasks such as digging, lifting, and grading at various construction sites.
  • Travel and Logistics: Travel to new sites as needed and coordinate with the logistics team for the transportation of heavy machinery.
  • Site Assessment: Evaluate site conditions and work collaboratively with the site supervisor to plan excavation tasks effectively.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating machinery and during site preparation and cleanup. Report any safety issues to the construction manager immediately.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine checks and maintenance of the excavator to ensure optimal operation. Identify needs for repairs and coordinate with maintenance teams.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with project managers, site supervisors, and other team members to ensure efficient operation of projects.

Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience operating excavators or similar heavy machinery in a construction environment.
  • Licenses: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) and certified operator licenses are highly desirable.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, which include sitting for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating equipment in various weather conditions.
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel extensively as required by project locations and timelines.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in operating hydraulic and cable-operated excavators.
  • Strong understanding of construction site safety and machinery maintenance.
  • Excellent situational awareness and risk management.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment:

The work involves regular exposure to outdoor environments in various weather conditions. The position includes extensive travel to multiple sites, which may involve remote or rugged locations. The operator will be expected to adapt quickly to new teams and site setups.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
